  Bahhahahah- this is great! I know the answer to only ONE of those questions (#8) !!

  Yep, is totally obvious I was a "bible student" for close to 30 damn years!!! Damn and double damn them.

  Not that I care about any of this bible knowledge stuff now though, lol. Good riddance to it.

  So he just said that we are to obey Jehovah God and not a man-made collective of decrees, after he JUST SAID that the Governing body is a collective, the faithful & discreet slave, making decrees (which we need to obey).

  !!!

  i had a secret conversation with a dyed in the wool jw recently.. they told me that they felt that the organisation now was a different religion to the 'good old days' when knorr was the boss.

  the books were more interesting.

  Yes, I remember when I came into this cult/religion in the early 80's, it was a whole different thing. It is unrecognizable to me now.

  Come to JW-dot-org for salvation! You can even play worldly music and DANCE on stage at the Kingdom Hall now, as long as it's for an international assembly, where you can TOUR the city afterward (as opposed to resting and reflecting prayerfully on the day's program...) and have the time of your life!!

  There are (ghastly and terrifying) colouring pages for children, videos to watch, a new shiny TV broadcasting show, GB members are now G.O.D., there are JW-dot-org banners and flags and trinkets... (Whatever happened to walking by faith, not by sight?).... There is now a "public witnessing" work with carts where you're not even supposed to approach anybody!! LOL

  You can take blood fractions now, and oh my goodness, what's next!? Maybe they will even sanction oral sex!

  Do you think if they sanctioned oral sex, it would keep people more in or out? Ha. In or out. Tee hee. Oh I am a bad one now.

  down one side of the road cars were parked making only room for one vehicle to travel.

  here was a car that didn't have right of way approaching.

  I mean, it's not like it makes them out to be superior, arrogant, uncompassionate jerks, does it? After all, you can clearly see how faithful and loyal they are being... Surely this is attractive and helps draw people closer to the true god...? Did it not make your heart long to be back in fellowship with these people, these happy worshippers of the only true god (or G.O.D. <--- new trademark, for Guardians* of Doctrine) ...?

  first let me tell you about george (his real name) the special pioneer.

  not that good looking...a bit goofy, he had spiritual sisters literally ask him to date and flutter eyelids because of his positon.

  he always made excuses about why sisters were "not his type"...had a bedroom full of pics of him hugging other brothers with a content strange look on his face....like this is my girlfriend look!

  Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?

  today i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.

  i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.

  sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

  Why don't they just have some friggin TRANSPARENCY in their accounting?? All they have to do is tell their flock how much it costs for heat, lights, water, cleaning supplies, light bulbs, lawnmower gas and fertilizers, flowers, etc., and then say that donations above this will go toward the worldwide work or whatever? (Or to needy ones in the congregation, like, oh, say, widows and fatherless children?? Or elderly pioneers or any who are literally looking for food or bread, or facing economic hardships?)

  What the heck is wrong with them anyway. Greedy bastards trying to keep afloat a sinking ship.

  We went to a JW funeral recently, and what an eye-opener. It was so creepy and they do not have compassion for anybody. Some family of the deceased were coming in from out of town and they either got lost or stuck in traffic, so they phoned the Kingdom Hall to let the brothers know they would be about 10 minutes late, and would the brothers hold off starting the funeral until all the family got there...?

  Well, you all know the answer, I am sure. The brother giving the talk would not wait for these other family members to arrive, He had his time set and that was that, despite there being coffee and tea afterwards at the hall. So even though this was a "booked event" with people being at the hall for quite a while, the brother still wouldn't wait to show this stressed family coming in from out of town any mercy. And the funeral talk was this very same outline!! Disgusting! And he didn't even pronounce our friend's deceased family member's name correctly!

  And of course, for the family arriving 10 minutes late from out of town, all they got was the WT commercial, the part about their loved family member was all done and over within a few minutes at the beginning.

  It was terrible, awful. It left a very bad taste for many people that day. My hope is that it helped wake someone up.....

  I remember asking a question about this Deborah, who judged the nation of Israel. I do not have the Watchtower reference, but the gist of why a woman was allowed to judge the nation of Israel was because it showed Israel's "poor spiritual state or condition" in that there was no spiritually worthy man at the time qualified to judge.
